Spann, Folston & E.O.T.O Elite Dominate 15-16 Girls, Fall Short Of Age Group Title


The ladies of E.O.T.O only consist of four people: Daishon Spann, Jermecia Brown, Jatana Folston and Dominique Knowles. Competing and placing in seven events throughout finals, they ended up just missing the 15-16 Girls Team Championship title by 6 points to Teon Elite.

Spann had a fulfilling finals day, starting in the first race of the day, the 15-16 girls 100m hurdles. Coming into the final seeded 5th with a 15.02, by the time the girls went over the 8th hurdle she was in 4th place. In the last two hurdles, Spann powered to the finish line to win the event with a season best of 14.86.

Spann also placed 2nd in her most known for event, the 800m dash with a time of 2:15.50.


Jermecia Brown of St. Thomas Aquinas, contributed points to the second place age group title by placing 6th in the 100m, with a 12.41. That race consisted of an additional 4 girls from Broward County that took 5 out of top 6 spots. It was also where Briana Williams broke her record running 11.54.

In the 400m dash final, Ransom Everglades Jatana Folston went head to head with Danielle Bess yet again. Both ladies fell short placing 2nd and 3rd respectively, Bess running 54.65 and Folston running 55.07.

In one of the final heats of the day, E.O.T.O Elite ran away from the competition to easily secure 1st place. Running in the order of Spann (55), Folston (55), Knowles (57) and Brown (57), it was them against the clock. Sadly the ladies fell short of the 15-16 record by two seconds running 3:47.05. However, they still have the 13-14 girls 4x400m record of 3:47.6.
