TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - North Dakota State senior Heather Zander placed third in the heptathlon at the Florida State Relays with a personal best score of 5,132 points. Freshman Emily Stalpes was 11th with 3,486 points.
Zander's best finish of the day came in the javelin, where she came in second with a throw of 111 feet 1 inch. She was fourth in the 800 in 2:21.22 and third in the long jump with a mark of 18-6.
Stalpes finished fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:38.55. She was eighth in the long jump with a mark of 15-11 3/4 and 12th in the javelin after a throw of 54-11.
The Bison are back in action at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. April 2-3.
