Tingelstad Wins Sprint Double at Beach Invitational

NORWALK, Calif. - North Dakota State freshman Ashley Tingelstad won both the 100 and 200 meters at the Beach Invitational on Saturday, April 17.  Her time of 11.90 in the 100 is ranked fourth all-time at NDSU.  She won the 200 in 24.53.

Sophomore Leslie Brost claimed her second title of the weekend in the pole vault after clearing 13-8 1/2.

In the long jump, senior Brittni Bruenjes was second with a leap of 18-9 3/4.  Sophomore Kristen Killoran was third by only half an inch with a mark of 18-9 1/4.  Bruenjes also came in fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 38-7 3/4.

Junior Jennifer Nagberi competed in the 100 meters with Tingelstad and posted a time of 12.03 for fifth place.  Her time is tied for ninth all-time at NDSU.

Junior Christine Bruins placed third in the 800 meters in 2:08.65, while redshirt freshman Toni Tollefson tied for third in the high jump after clearing 5-7 3/4.

The 4x400 relay team of Nagberi, sophomore Brittany Page, Tingelstad and Bruenjes came in fifth in 47.66.

At the Mt. SAC Relays, juniors Whitney Carlson and Brittany Gigstead competed in Olympic development races.  Carlson was fifth in the 400 hurdles in 1:00.53, while Gigstead was fourth in the 800 in 2:08.64.

The Bison will travel to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays April 23-24.
