Five NDSU Men Head to Drake Relays

FARGO, N.D. ? Five members of the North Dakota State men's track and field team will compete in the 101st Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.  On Friday, April 23, sophomore Weston Leutz will run the 110 meter hurdles at 11:35 a.m.  Juniors Doug Scott and Ted Rud will compete in the long jump at 1:30 p.m.  On Saturday, April 24, sophomore Jeramy Geditz will compete in the high jump at 10 a.m. and senior Scott Johnson will throw the hammer at 2:15 p.m.

 

Jackson leads Bison out in California

North Dakota State sophomore Kevin Jackson finished second in the 400 meters in a personal best time of 47.66 at the Beach Invitational on Saturday.  His time is sixth all-time at NDSU.  Jackson also posted the team's highest finish at the Mt. SAC Relays, coming in fifth in the 200 meters in 21.43.  At the Mt. SAC/Cal Invitational Decathlon, sophomore Weston Leutz was fifth with a personal best score of 7,290 points.  His score is ranked fourth all-time at NDSU.

 

Bison lead eight events in Summit League

Sophomore Weston Leutz leads both the 110 hurdles (14.21) and the decathlon (7,290) in the Summit League.  Sophomore Kevin Jackson leads the 200 in 21.34 while junior Eric Stroh holds top spot in the 800 with a time of 1:51.13.  Junior Ted Rud leads the long jump with a mark of 23-8 and senior Scott Johnson is No. 1 in the hammer with a mark of 193-4.  Sophomore Travis Fitzke is first in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:30.69.  NDSU also leads the 4x100 relay with a time of 41.84.

 

Three Bison ranked in national top 50

Sophomore Weston Leutz leads a group of three nationally ranked Bison.  Leutz is No. 15 in the decathlon with 7,290 points.  Junior Ted Rud is also ranked in the decathlon, coming in at No. 18 with 7,261 points.  Sophomore Travis Fitzke is 50th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:30.69.
