14 Members of NDSU Men's Track and Field Team Pick Up All-League Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. ? The North Dakota State men's track and field team saw 14 athletes named to the All-Summit League team as announced by the league today.  The top three athletes in each event earn all-league honors.

 

Sophomore Weston Leutz leads the league in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.21 and the decathlon with 7,290 points.

 

Fellow sophomore Kevin Jackson is first in the 100 meters with a time of 10.67 and second in the 200 meters in 21.34.  He is also third in the 400 meters with a time of 47.41.  Jackson is also part of the third-ranked 4x100 relay.

 

Junior Eric Stroh earns all-league honors after leading the league in the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.13.

 

Sophomore Travis Fitzke picks up honors in two events.  He leads the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:30.69 and is third in the 1,500 meters in 3:51.20.

 

In the steeplechase, junior Tom Wagner is third with a time of 9:30.06.  Sophomore Jeramy Geditz is first in the high jump with a mark of 6-10 ¼.

 

Junior Ted Rud earns honors in three events.  He is second in both the long jump (23-8) and the decathlon (7,261) and third in the triple jump (45-9 ¾).

 

In the discus, senior Sam Soholt is third with a mark of 161-8, while in the hammer throw, two Bison earn all-league honors.  Senior Scott Johnson leads the way with a school record mark of 193-4 and redshirt freshman Casey Orgon is third with a throw of 183-9.

 

Freshman Andy Lillejord is third in the decathlon with 6,323 points.

 

Junior Doug Scott, sophomore Jason Duchscherer and freshman Lee Dhein join Jackson as part of the third-ranked 4x100 relay.

 

NDSU opens action at the Summit League Championships Thursday, May 13.
