Tollefson Advances to NCAA Championships in High Jump

AUSTIN, Texas - North Dakota State redshirt freshman Toni Tollefson became the third Bison to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships after clearing 5 feet 11 1/4 inches in the high jump on the final day of competition at the NCAA Preliminary Round.

Tollefson cleared the bar on her first attempt at every height until the competition was whittled down to the final 12 athletes that will compete in Eugene, Ore. June 9-12.

In the 100 meter hurdles quarterfinals, junior Whitney Carlson finished 21st with a time of 13.75.  The top 12 advanced to the NCAA Championships.

Sophomore Kristen Killoran placed 34th in the triple jump with a mark of 39-8.

Tollefson, along with Carlson and senior Heather Zander, will all compete at the NCAA Championships in Eugene June 9-12.
