ELMHURST, Ill. - The North
Dakota State men's cross country team tied with Oral Roberts to finish fourth
in the Summit League in a vote of the league's head coaches. The Bison tallied 51 points.
South Dakota State,
defending league champion, was picked to win the league with 79 points and
eight first place votes. Southern Utah
was chosen second with 74 points and two first place votes. Oakland was third with 61 points and Oral
Roberts tied for fourth with the Bison with 51 points. IUPUI was chosen sixth with 48 points and
Western Illinois was picked seventh with 32 points. UMKC, IPFW and Centenary round out the poll.
The Bison placed sixth at
the Summit League Championships last season.
Juniors Jake Henderson and Travis Fitzke return after combining to be
the top Bison finisher in five of the seven meets.
The Bison open the season
with the NDSU Open Friday, Sept. 3 at 5 p.m. at Rose Creek Golf Course.
