FARGO, N.D. ? The North Dakota State men's cross country team will travel to Carmel, Ind. Saturday, Oct. 30 for the 2010 Summit League Championships Presented by American Airlines. The eight-kilometer race starts at 11 a.m. Eastern at Northview Christian Church.
The Bison are led by the junior trio of Travis Fitzke, Jake Henderson and Tyler Leverington, who are all ranked in the league's top 15. Fitzke was NDSU's top finisher at the Jim Drews Invitational, the team's last meet before the championships. Henderson was the top Bison runner at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational, while Leverington led the squad at the Oz Memorial Run and the NDSU Open.
Last year, the Bison finished sixth at the league championships. Henderson was the squad's top finisher, placing 16th. Fitzke and Leverington also finished in the top 30, placing 23rd and 27th, respectively. South Dakota State claimed the league title, beating out Southern Utah by five points.
