FARGO, N.D. ? The North Dakota State men's track and field team won five events at the season-opening Holiday Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 4.
Redshirt freshman Andy Lillejord won the heptathlon with 5,254 points. His score ranks fourth all-time at NDSU. Sophomore Ryan Jenson's score of 4,599 points is seventh all-time.
Sophomore Matt Tetzlaff took first in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.29. Junior Kevin Jackson won the 60 meters in 6.87, only six-tenths off his personal best. Jackson was also second in the 60 hurdles.
In the 600 meters, sophomore Andrew Balzer won with a time of 1:22.94. He led first through fifth finish in the event for the Bison. The 4x400 relay team took first in 3:24.55.
NDSU will next compete in the Bison Classic on Jan. 15 after a winter break.
