NDSU Tallies 37 Summit League Fall All-Academic Team Selections

ELMHURST, Ill. ? North Dakota State had 37 student-athletes named to the Summit League Fall All-Academic announced by the league office Wednesday, Jan. 26.  The Bison had 24 student-athletes named Distinguished Scholars.

A total of 481 Summit League student-athletes from men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball have been honored for their academic excellence. Of the 481 selections, a total of 255 were recognized as Distinguished Scholars.

Oakland led the way with a league-best 63 selections to the Academic All-Summit League squad, edging out South Dakota State with 55 receipients. Not far behind was IUPUI with 51 honorees, while IPFW and Western Illinois each landed 50 student-athletes to the list. UMKC landed 48 members to the honor roll followed by Oral Roberts (45 recipients) and Centenary (43 recipients) were only separated by two. Southern Utah's 39 student-athletes and North Dakota State's 37 student-athletes rounded out the list. Of the 481 members that were honored, 137 earned straight A's during the fall semester.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-Summit League Team, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better grade-point average (GPA) in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility. In order to be named a Distinguished Scholar, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.60 GPA.
