Three Bison Crack All-Time Top 10 at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. ? The North Dakota State men's track and field team posted 12 top eight finishes at the Duke Invitational Saturday, April 9.

 

Freshman Donte Smart placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 47.76.  He ranks eighth on the school's all-time performance list.  Junior Jason Duchscherer was seventh in 48.55.

 

In the hammer throw, senior Logan Hollenkamp was second with a mark of 184 feet 2 inches.  Fellow senior Sam Soholt took fifth with a throw of 171-11 and sophomore Casey Orgon was sixth with a mark of 170-6.

 

In the 110 meter hurdles, sophomore Matt Tetzlaff placed second in a personal best time of 14.34.  He is now ranked fifth all-time at NDSU.

 

The 4x100 relay won NDSU's second title of the meet with a time of 41.17.  The 4x400 relay was second in 3:13.43.

 

Sophomore Kevin Jackson placed fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 10.84.  In the 800 meters, senior Eric Stroh was fourth in 1:50.29 and sophomore Moses Heppner finished seventh in 1:51.90.

 

In the steeplechase, junior Andrew Fillmore's time of 9:21.50 was good for 11th place and is ranked 10th all-time at NDSU.

 

Junior Jeramy Geditz was second in the high jump after clearing 6 feet 8 ¼ inches.  In the pole vault, two Bison finished in the top eight.  Sophomore Jesse Morrow was fifth with a mark of 15-9.  Junior Joe Bredahl finished eight after clearing 15-3.  In the discus, senior Sam Soholt posted a seventh place finish after a throw of 156-10.

 

The Bison are back in action next weekend as they travel to California for the Mt. SAC Relays and the Beach Invitational.
