FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's track and field team won 13 events en route to a 107-59 dual win over North Dakota on Friday, May 6. Seven members of the team broke into the school's all-time performance charts at the meet.
In the hammer throw, senior Logan Hollenkamp took first with a personal best throw of 188 feet 9 inches. His mark is third all-time at NDSU. Junior Casey Orgon was second with a mark of 184-11, which is fourth in school history. Orgon also won the shot put with a mark of 50-10 ¼. In the discus, senior Sam Soholt's second place mark of 161-11 is eighth all-time.
Senior Jeramy Geditz won the high jump after clearing 6-11. His mark is tied for fifth all-time at NDSU. In the pole vault, Andy Lillejord finished first with a mark of 16-2 ¾. Junior Joe Bredahl was second with the same mark. Both athletes are now tied for seventh on the school's all-time performance charts.
Sophomore Matt Tetzlaff won the 110 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 14.22 seconds, which ranks fourth all-time at NDSU.
Freshman Donte Smart captured the 100 meters with a time of 10.64, while sophomore Kevin Jackson won the 200 meters with a time of 21.58. Junior Kole Seiler took first in the 800 meters in 1:53.73 and sophomore Moses Heppner won the 1,500 meters in 3:52.60. Sophomore Lee Dhein won the long jump with a mark of 23-3 ¼.
In the javelin, senior Ted Rud took first with a throw of 166-1. The Bison also won the 4x100 relay in 41.00 and the 4x400 relay in 3:45.49.
The Bison also had two athletes run the 800 meters at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays. Senior Eric Stroh finished second with a personal best time of 1:49.65, which is fourth all-time at NDSU. Redshirt freshman Alec Espeland was fourth in 1:51.32.
