Geditz Sets NDSU Record in the High Jump, Reaches NCAA Provisional Mark

FARGO, N.D. ? Junior Jeramy Geditz set a North Dakota State and Bison Sports Arena record of 7 feet 1 ½ inches in the high jump at the Bison Classic on Sunday.  The mark also reaches NCAA provisional standards.   The Bison won nine events at Sunday's meet.

 

Geditz broke the record of 7-1 which was set by Ryan Lesnau in 2004.

 

Sophomore Kevin Jackson won the 60 meters in a time of 6.85, which ties his personal best and is ranked ninth all-time at NDSU.  Jackson also came in second in the 200 meters in 22.43.

 

Senior Cody Gronvold led a 1-2-3 finish in the pole vault.  Gronvold tied his personal best, clearing 16-0 3/4, which is ranked ninth all-time.  Redshirt freshman Jesse Morrow was second with a mark of 15-7 and sophomore Joe Bredahl was third with a mark of 15-1.

 

In the mile, sophomore Travis Fitzke used a late charge to claim first place in a time of 4:19.23.

 

Senior Jayce Miller won the 400 metesr in 50.52 and sophomore Jason Duchscherer was third in 50.67.

 

Junior Eric Stroh was first in the 1,000 meters in 2:31.56 and sophomore Tyler Leverington won the 3,000 meters in 8:46.43.

 

Sophomore Weston Leutz captured the 60 meter hurdles in 8.11, while freshman Matt Tetzlaff was third in 8.38.  The NDSU men also claimed the 4x400 relay title in 3:24.54.

 

NDSU will head to Minneapolis for the Jack Johnson Classic on Saturday, Jan. 23.  The next home meet is the Bison Open, which is scheduled for Feb. 12-13.
