NDSU Women's Track and Field Inks Five to Letters of Intent

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State head women's track and field coach Ryun Godfrey has announced the signing of five student-athletes to National Letters of Intent.

 

Joining the Bison are Heidi Peterson, a distance runner from Sartell, Minn.; Jamie Drevlow, a thrower from Gwinner, N.D.; Abby Goraczkowski, a thrower from Litchfield, Minn.; Emily Lesser, a thrower from Maple Grove, Minn. and Kiley Severson, a thrower from Hayfield, Minn.

 

“We are very excited about the start to our 2010 recruiting class,” said Godfrey.  “Today we have five outstanding student-athletes committed to Bison track and field and cross country.  This class brings a wealth of experience and talent.  They are committed to excellence in the classroom and on the playing field.  We are very much looking forward to having them join us next year.”

 

Peterson is a four-time Minnesota state qualifier in cross country and track out of Sartell High School.  She finished fourth at the state cross country championships in the fall and also claimed the 2009 section title.  She plans to major in exercise science.

 

Drevlow attends North Sargent High School (N.D.) and was the 2009 state runner-up in the javelin with a throw of 125-8.  She placed fourth at the state meet as a sophomore.  An honor student, she intends to major in exercise science.

 

Goraczkowski is the 2009 Minnesota state runner-up in the shot put out of Litchfield High School.  She also competed at the state championships as a sophomore.  An academic all-state selection, Goraczkowski plans to major in nursing.

 

Lesser hails from Maple Grove High School.  She placed sixth in the shot put at the 2009 Minnesota state championships and is an all-conference and all-state honoree.  Lesser plans to major in exercise science.

 

Severson is a two-time Minnesota state qualifier out of Hayfield High School.  She placed third in the shot put at the state championships as a junior and fifth as a sophomore.  She is an all-conference performer in track and field, as well as volleyball and basketball.  Severson plans to major in nursing.
