Bison Women Post Four Top Ten Marks at Husker Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. ? The North Dakota State women's track and field team reached four school all-time top 10 marks at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational.

The 4x400 relay team of Devon Wentz, Brittany Page, Deborah John and Whitney Carlson finished third in the special race in 3:46.98.  The time is ranked eighth all-time.

Carlson came in fourth in the 200 meter final in 24.46, which is second all-time.  She also placed fifth in the 60 meter hurdle final in 8.59.

In the 3,000 meters, freshman Lauren Rice was the runner-up in a time of 10:02.50.  Her time ranks 10th on the NDSU all-time performance charts.

Sophomore Brittany Page won the 200 meter consolation final in 25.10.  Her personal best time is seventh all-time for the Bison.

John was fifth in the 60 meter final in 7.70, while junior Christine Bruins placed eighth in the 800 meters in 2:16.75.

In the high jump, freshman Toni Tollefson finished eighth with a mark of 5-5 and senior Courtney Carpenter tied for 10th with a jump of 5-3.

Senior Brittni Bruenjes reached a mark of 38-3 ½ in the triple jump to place eighth.

The team heads back to the friendly confines of the Bison Sports Arena for the Bison Open Feb. 12-13.  Multi-event action starts Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday's action starts at 3 p.m.
