Brost Sets New School Record, Improves NCAA Provisional Mark in Pole Vault at Parents Day Open

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - North Dakota State sophomore Leslie Brost broke her own school record in winning the pole vault at the Parents Day Open on Saturday, Feb. 20.  Brost cleared 13 feet 10 inches, improving her NCAA provisional qualifying mark. 

Brost defeated All-American Alicia Rue of Minnesota and Katelin Rains, the reigning NCAA Division II national champion to win the meet title.  Sophomore Peggy Ronke also competed in the pole vault, clearing 11-4 1/2.

Freshman Ashley Tingelstad won the 400 meters with a personal best time of 56.72, shattering her previous best of 59.23.  She also set a meet record in her victory.

Sophomore Jordan Krahn set a personal best of 5:13.31 in the mile, while junior Christine Bruins ran a 5:09.28 and junior Marissa Dahlquist ran a 5:14.18 in the same event.

NDSU hosts the Summit League Championships Sunday, Feb. 28 and Monday, March 1 at the Bison Sports Arena.  The Bison women are shooting for their third straight indoor title.
