Geditz Leads NDSU Men at Baldy Castillo Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. ? Sophomore Jeramy Geditz led the North Dakota State men's track and field team at the Baldy Castillo Invitational by winning the high jump title with a personal best mark of 6-8 ¼.  Overall, the Bison tallied nine top six finishes in the first outdoor meet of the year.

In the 800 meters, junior Eric Stroh finished fourth in a personal best time of 1:51.13.  His time is ranked seventh on the NDSU all-time performance charts.

Sophomore Travis Fitzke was fifth in the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:30.69 and junior Tom Wagner was the runner-up in the steeplechase with a time of 9:30.81.

In the 110 meter hurdles, freshman Matt Tetzlaff led the Bison contingent by finishing fifth in 14.60.  Sophomore Weston Leutz was sixth in 14.77.  Leutz also tied for third in the high jump with a mark of 6-4 ¾.

The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Jason Duchscherer, Leutz, freshman Moses Heppner and Stroh finished fourth in 3:19.81.

The second 4x400 relay team of freshman Andy Lillejord, junior Ted Rud, sophomore Ryan Jenson and freshman Daniel Merritt was sixth with a time of 3:29.70.

NDSU continues the outdoor season with the Duke Invitational April 2-3.
