Rud Named Summit League Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State junior Ted Rud was honored as the Summit League Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after winning the decathlon at the Florida State Relays.

Rud posted a score of 7,261 points in the win, setting a personal best by 532 points.  He took top spot in the long jump, shot put, discus and 1,500 meters.  He became only the sixth Bison to ever crack the 7,000 point barrier and his score is now ranked fourth all-time at NDSU.

The New York Mills, Minn. native has the second-best decathlon score in the country and also leads the Summit League.

Rud and the Bison will compete at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. April 2-3.
