ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State senior Heather Zander has been named the Summit League Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after finishing third in the heptathlon at the Florida State Relays last week.

Zander tallied 5,134 points in the heptathlon, setting a new personal best and ranking fourth on the NDSU all-time performance charts.  She posted top three finishes in the 100 meter hurdles, the 200 meters, the long jump and the javelin.

She leads the Summit League in the heptathlon and is currently ranked third in the country.

Zander and the Bison continue action at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. April 2-3.
