Johnson Sets New School Record in Hammer

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State senior Scott Johnson broke a 2005 school record in winning the hammer throw on Friday evening at the Bison Open.  Johnson's record-setting throw was 193 feet 4 inches, breaking John Christensen's record of 192-5.

Redshirt freshman Casey Orgon placed third with a personal best throw of 177-1, which ranks fifth all-time at NDSU.  Junior Logan Hollenkamp was fourth with a mark of 176-4.  Redshirt freshman Blake Elsen placed seventh with a throw of 153-2.

The Bison Open continues Saturday, April 10 with field events starting at noon and running events beginning at 2:30 p.m.
