Three Relay Teams Post NDSU All-Time Top Ten Times at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa ? Three women's relay teams cracked the North Dakota State all-time top 10 at the Drake Relays on Friday, April 23. 

 

The 4x200 relay team of sophomore Jennifer Nagberi, sophomore Brittany Page, freshman Ashley Tingelstad and junior Whitney Carlson posted a time of 1:38.33 to finish eighth.  The time is second on the NDSU all-time performance charts.

 

In the 4x800 relay, junior Brittany Gigstead, senior Amy Bestland, junior Christine Bruins and junior Amy Jo Reuter finished fifth in 8:54.51, which ranks fifth all-time.

 

The 4x400 relay team of senior Heather Zander, Tingelstad, senior Devon Wentz and junior Emily Black was 12th with a time of 3:42.89.  It ranks eighth on the school's performance charts.

 

In the 800 meters, Gigstead and Bruins finished fifth and sixth, respectively.  Gigstead posted a season-best time of 2:07.86 and Bruins' time was 2:08.94.

 

Freshman Toni Tollefson tied for fifth in the pole vault after clearing 5-7.  Senior Courtney Carpenter finished 16th in the javelin with a throw of 122-11.

 

The 4x100 relay team of Nagberi, Page, Zander, and senior Brittni Bruenjes just missed out on a spot on the top 10 list after posting a time of 46.74 to finish 13th.

 

Three athletes competed in the 100 meter hurdles.  Carlson led the way, coming in 16th in 14.61.  Wentz was 18th in 14.77 and Zander was 20th in 14.86.

 

On Thursday night, Reuter came in 10th in the steeplechase with a personal best time of 10:54.09 and improves her mark as fourth all-time.

 

The Bison continue action at the Drake Relays on Saturday.
