Zander in 13th After First Day of Heptathlon at U.S. Track and Field Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa ? North Dakota State senior Heather Zander is in 13th place in the heptathlon after one day of action at the U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  Her score after four events is 3,238 points.

 

Zander posted her best finish of the day in the 200 meters, placing fourth in 24.38.  She was 13th in the 100 meter hurdles to open the day, coming in with a time of 14.17.  She tied for 14th in the high jump after clearing 5 feet 3 inches and was 10th in the shot put with a throw of 36-5 ¾.

 

The heptathlon concludes Saturday beginning with the long jump at 11:30 a.m.  Two other Bison will also compete Saturday as redshirt freshman Toni Tollefson participates in the high jump at 12:30 p.m. and junior Whitney Carlson competes in the long jump at 2 p.m.
