ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State had 92 student-athletes make the Summit League Winter/Spring All-Academic Team announced by the league office Wednesday, June 16.

 

A total of 1,017 Summit League student-athletes from baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's track and field have been honored for their academic excellence.

 

South Dakota State led the way with a league-best 154 selections to the All-Academic Team, while Oakland and Western Illinois had 140 and 124 honorees, respectively.

 

Southern Utah landed 104 student-athletes on the list followed by North Dakota State (92), IPFW (79), Oral Roberts (71), UMKC (67), Centenary (64) and IUPUI (64).

 

Associate members South Dakota and Eastern Illinois had 34 and 24 swimming and diving student-athletes recognized for their academic achievements, respectively.

 

Of the 1,017 student-athletes that were honored, 141 posted perfect 4.00 grade-point averages. A total of 449 were recognized as Distinguished Scholars.

 

In order to be selected to the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.0 GPA in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility.  Distinguished Scholars have at least a 3.60 GPA.
