ELMHURST, Ill. - The North
Dakota State women's cross country was chosen to finish second in the Summit
League this season in a vote of the league's head coaches. The Bison tallied 74 points and two first
place votes.
Defending champion Southern
Utah was chosen to win the league with 80 points and eight first place
votes. South Dakota State was picked
third with 56 points and Oakland was chosen fourth with 53 points. Oral Roberts was fifth with 50 points and
IPFW was sixth with 42 points. IUPUI was picked eighth with 41 points and UMKC
was eighth with 23 points. Western
Illinois and Centenary round out the poll.
The Bison finished second at
the Summit League Championships a year ago.
NDSU returns six athletes from the 2009 squad, including senior Amy Jo
Reuter, who was the top Bison finisher in all five regular season races.
The Bison kick off the 2010
season by hosting the NDSU Open on Friday, Sept. 3 at Rose Creek Golf Course in
Fargo.
