NDSU Women Finish Second at Oz Memorial Run

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. ? The North Dakota State women's cross country team took second at the Oz Memorial Run on Friday, Sept. 10.  The Bison tallied 57 points behind Minnesota's 19 points and sixth straight title.

 

Freshman Heidi Peterson led the Bison, finishing sixth in the six-kilometer race in 22:39.21.  Senior Amy Jo Thorne also placed in the top 10, coming in ninth in 22:54.10.

 

Freshman Maddie McClellan placed 23rd in 23:49.11 to lead a set of three straight Bison finishers.  Senior Christine (Bruins) Schmaltz finished just behind McClellan in 24th in a time of 23:58.92.  Sophomore Faith Kruchowski was 25th in 23:59.64.

 

Senior Brittany Schanandore came in 28th in 24:02.10 and freshman Kelly Pechous was 33rd in 24:11.23. Senior Marissa Dahlquist placed 38th with a time of 24:22.60.  Junior Jordan Krahn was just behind Dahlquist in 39th in 24:26.90.

 

Freshman Niki Huelsman finished 63rd in 25:40.62 and sophomore Kathryn Houle was 67th with a time of 25:57.98.

 

Freshman Emily Helwig and sophomore Lexi Jo Heitkamp rounded out the Bison runners in 79th and 81st, respectively.
