NDSU Women Place 17th at NCAA Midwest Regional

PEORIA, Ill. ? Senior Amy Jo Thorne placed 67th to lead the North Dakota State women's cross country team to a 17th place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, Nov. 13. The six-kilometer race was held at Newman Golf Course and hosted by Bradley University.

 

Iowa State won the team title with 35 points, while Minnesota's Stephanie Rice took first in the 188-person race in 20:01.48.

 

Thorne crossed the finish line in 21:41.02.  Freshman Heidi Peterson finished six seconds behind Thorne in 76th in a time of 21:47.40. 

 

Senior Christine Schmaltz placed 119th in 22:34.72 and junior Jordan Krahn was right on her heels in 120th in a time of 22:34.95.

 

Freshman Maddie McClellan finished in 22:40.29, good for 129th.  Senior Brittany Schanandore was 132nd in 22:50.31 and sophomore Faith Kruchowski placed 135th in a time of 22:52.64.
