Men's Track and Field Kicks Off Indoor Season with Holiday Invitational

FARGO, N.D. - The North Dakota State men's track and field team will open the indoor season by hosting the Holiday Invitational Saturday, Dec. 4 and Holiday Heptathlon Saturday and Sunday at the Bison Sports Arena.  Field events will start at 1 p.m. and the running events begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The first four events of the heptathlon will begin at 10:10 on Saturday morning and the final three events will be contested Sunday starting at 11 a.m.

The Bison will compete against South Dakota State and the University of Mary this weekend.  It will be the only competition for NDSU before the semester break.

NDSU returns 33 letterwinners, including 10 seniors, from last year's Summit League title-winning squad.  There are also 21 athletes with freshman eligibility on this year's team.  The Bison have also been selected as the preseason favorite for the 2010-11 Summit League championship.

1 p.m. ? Weight throw (women-men)

Follows weight ? shot put (women & men)

1 p.m. ? Long jump (women-men)

Follows long jump ? triple jump (women-men)

1 p.m. ? Pole vault (men-women)

1 p.m. ? High jump (men-women)
