Carlson Sets School Record in Pentathlon at Holiday Invitational

FARGO, N.D. ? Senior Whitney Carlson set a new school record in the pentathlon to lead the North Dakota State women's track and field team at the Holiday Invitational this weekend.  Her score of 3,954 points broke her previous record of 3,810 points.

 

Junior Kristen Killoran also broke into the all-time top 10 in her first pentathlon competition. Her score of 3,602 points is fourth on the NDSU all-time performance charts.  As part of the pentathlon, Killoran notched a personal best mark of 19-6 ¾, improving on the eighth best mark in NDSU history.

 

Redshirt freshman Antoinette Goodman made her mark in her first meet for NDSU.  Her third place time of 7.74 in the 60 meters is tied for seventh all-time.  Goodman won the 200 meters in 25.11, ranking eighth all-time at NDSU.

 

Junior Jennifer Nagberi also ran a personal best in the 60 meters, finishing second in 7.73.  Her time is tied for fifth all-time at NDSU.

 

In the pentathlon 60 meter hurdles, sophomore Deborah John took second in 8.86, ranking ninth all-time at NDSU. 

 

The Bison women also claimed three other event titles.  Brittany Page won the 400 meters in 57.45, while NDSU took first in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:57.47.  Junior Leslie Brost won the pole vault with a mark of 13-5 ¼.

 

This was the only competition for the Bison before winter break. NDSU will open the spring semester by hosting the Bison Classic on Saturday, Jan. 15.
