Brost Named Summit League Athlete of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State junior Leslie Brost earned her third career Summit League indoor women's track and field athlete of the week award after setting a new school record in the pole vault at the Bison Open over the weekend.

Brost cleared 13 feet 11 1/4 inches (4.25m) to break her own school record of 13-10 1/2 she had set last year.  Her mark is also a new Bison Sports Arena record, breaking the record of 13-6 set by Minnesota State Mankato's Katelin Rains in 2008.

The Watertown, S.D. native currently leads the Summit League in the pole vault and is No. 9 in the nation in the event.  She is the third Bison to earn the league's weekly honor this season.

Brost and the Bison will compete at the Iowa State Invitational this weekend before returning to Fargo to host the Summit League Championships Feb. 27-28.
