NDSU Men Travel to Iowa State Classic

FARGO, N.D. - The North Dakota State men's track and field team heads to Ames, Iowa to compete in the Iowa State Classic Friday, Feb. 11 and Saturday, Feb. 12.  The Bison will go up against three ranked teams, including top-ranked Florida.  No. 12 Auburn and No. 22 Kansas State will also be in attendance. This will be the final competition for the Bison before hosting the Summit League Championships Feb. 27-28.  On Friday, men's events begin with the long jump at 2 p.m.   The pole vault gets action started at 10 a.m. Saturday.

 

NDSU to host Summit League Championships

For the second year in a row, the Bison Sports Arena will be the home of the Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships.  The league meet is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 27 and Monday, Feb. 28.  NDSU will be aiming for its fourth straight indoor league title.

 

Rud paces NDSU men at Bison Open

Ted Rud claimed the heptathlon title with 5,331 points at the Bison Open on Feb. 5.  His score ranks third all-time at NDSU.  Donte Smart won the 60 meters in 6.83, which is ninth in school history.  Matt Tetzlaff took first in the 60 meter hurdles for the second straight meet, while Moses Heppner won the mile.  Alec Espeland claimed his first event title as well, winning the 800 meters.

 

Bison men making their mark

The NDSU all-time top 10 list is going to see some changes after this season.  The Bison men have already achieved 14 top 10 marks this season.  Travis Fitzke has led the way as he has reached top 10 marks in the 1,000 meters, the mile and the 3,000 meters.

 

Five Bison crack all-time top 10 at Bill Bergan Invitational

Matt Tetzlaff won the 60 meter hurdles for the third time this season at the Bill Bergan Invitational in Ames, Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 29 to lead the Bison to a third place finish.  Kevin Jackson's 200 meter time of 21.81 is fifth all-time at NDSU, while Jason Duchscherer's time of 48.59 in the 400 meters is seventh all-time. Travis Fitzke's time of 8:22.29 in the 3,000 meters is sixth all-time. In the 800 meters, Moses Heppner posted a time of 1:52.54 to rank 10th in NDSU history.  In the weight throw, Casey Orgon's personal best mark of 57-5 is fifth all-time.
