Fitzke Leads Bison at Iowa State Classic

AMES, Iowa ? Junior Travis Fitzke moved up to fourth on the school's all-time performance charts in the mile, clocking in at 4:06.94 to place fifth at the Iowa State Classic on Saturday, Feb. 12.  Fitzke was one of three Bison to notch a top 10 mark in school history.

 

In the 800 meters, senior Eric Stroh finished ninth in 1:51.46, which is sixth in school history.  Sophomore Moses Heppner moved into a tie for ninth all-time in the same event after posting a time of 1:52.45, good for 15th place.

 

Sophomore Matt Tetzlaff placed fourth in the 60 meter hurdles in 8.06.  Junior Kevin Jackson also advanced to the final and took 15th in 8.29.  Jackson also made it to the final in the 60 meter dash.  He placed 14th in 6.96.

 

In the high jump, senior Jeramy Geditz finished fifth with a mark of 6 feet 9 inches.  In the non-seeded pole vault, sophomore Jesse Morrow tied for fourth after clearing 15-9.  Junior Joe Bredahl was sixth with a mark of 15-9.

 

The Bison return to Fargo to host the Summit League Indoor Championships Feb. 27-28.  NDSU will be gunning for its fourth straight league title.
