Bison Men Set to Compete at Drake Relays, Kip Janvrin Open

FARGO, N.D. - The North Dakota State men's track and field team will compete in the 102nd running of the Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open this weekend.  The Drake Relays begin with the decathlon Wednesday, April 27 and conclude Saturday, April 30. The Bison will send eight individuals to the competition in Des Moines, Iowa as well as seven relay teams.  Live results are available here.   The Kip Janvrin Open is hosted by Simpson College and is scheduled for Thursday, April 28 and Friday, April 29.

Morrow, Hollenkamp lead team at SDSU Twilight

Sophomore Jesse Morrow won the pole vault and senior Logan Hollenkamp took first in the hammer throw to lead the NDSU men at the South Dakota State Twilight meet on Monday, April 25.  Morrow's winning mark was 15 feet 11 inches, while Hollenkamp's first place throw was 181 feet 2 inches. Overall, the Bison posted 21 top eight finishes.

 

Stroh wins 800 at Beach Invite

Eric Stroh claimed the 800 meters title in a personal best time of 1:49.71 at the Beach Invitational in Norwalk, Calif. April 17.  His time is ranked fourth in NDSU history.  Matt Tetzlaff also ran a personal best time of 14.26 in the 110 hurdles, which is tied for fourth all-time.  Joe Bredahl continued to improve his pole vault as well, clearing 16-2, good for eight all-time.

 

Cracking the top 10 in Walnut

At the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. April 15, five members of the men's team broke into the school's all-time top 10.  Joe Bredahl is now ninth in the pole vault after clearing 16-0 3/4, while Jeramy Geditz is sixth all-time in the high jump after a leap of 6-10 3/4.  In the 400 hurdles, Matt Tetzlaff's time of 53.07 is ninth on the school's performance charts.  Moses Heppner and Alec Espeland both cracked the top 10 in the 800 meters.  Heppner is seventh with a time of 1:50.53 and Espeland is eight with a time of 1:50.59.

 

NDSU leads five events in Summit League

NDSU tops the Summit League standings in four individual events as well as the 4x100 relay.  Sophomore Kevin Jackson is first in the 100 meters with a time of 10.64, while senior Eric Stroh holds the top spot in the 800 meters with a time of 1:49.71.  Sophomore Matt Tetzlaff is first in the 110 hurdles in 14.26 and senior Ted Rud leads the heptathlon with 6,998 points.

 

Stroh, Rud nationally ranked

Two members of the team are ranked in the top 50 in their respective events in the official Track and Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS).  Senior Ted Rud is ranked 44th in the nation in the decathlon with 6,998 points.  Fellow senior Eric Stroh is 42nd in the 800 meters with a time of 1:49.71.
