Beavercreek (OH) junior, Taylor Ewert has won or placed runner up in an event at the Eastern Relays every year she's been in high school. As a freshman, she won the 2K steeple running 7:14.56, last year as a sophomore she was second in the mile (5:00.22) behind Owensboro (KY) Breanna Alderton

This year Ewert comes back as the favorite in the mile. She's one of only two runners with a seed time faster than 5-minutes holding a PR of 4:49.07. She could see the most challenge from Gahanna Lincoln (OH) High School senior Madison Martinez.

Last year Martinez finished fifth in the mile running 5:02.84. Since then shes run a mile PR of
4:59.15 and a 1600m PR of 4:57.24 which converts to a 4:58.96 for the full mile. Both Martinez and Ewert are entered in other events with Ewert entered to run the 3200m and Martinez entered individually in the 800m as well as to possibly on her schools 4x4 and 4x8.

In both the 3200m and 1600m Ewert will be accompanied by several of her Beavercreek teammates who according to Coach Howard Russ are all looking to break 11-minutes in the 3200m and come back Friday to all break 5-minutes in the mile. The Beavercreek ladies were the OHSAA Ohio State Cross Country Championship Division 1 team champions this past fall and will look to make a statement in the distance events this weekend.
