Just like the last two weeks, Fremont (Neb.) superstar Juan Gonzalez stayed put at the top of the rankings, while Southlake-Carroll's (Texas) Caden Leonard remained at No. 2.
However, there were two new faces inside the top five this week, as Ty Steorts of Hurricane (W.V.) and St. Xavier's (Ohio) Alex Bruns made big jumps after picking up statement wins.
Steorts won the adidas XC Challenge in record-breaking fashion, clocking 14:37.80 to lower his own course record. Bruns broke the tape at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky, running 14:39.86.
Cedar Falls (Iowa) junior Jaden Merrick maintained his spot at No. 5.
